Spring Break Program in France:10 Day Enrichment Program

Overview | Itinerary | Calendar | MapProgram Fee

Why Come on a Spring Break trip to France?

There is no city in the world more enticing than Paris in the Spring: before the dense crowds of summer tourists descend on the City of Light, it is a place of friendly faces, sunshine, budding trees, vibrant cafes, and a positive energy unmatched elsewhere. Visits to some of the greatest collections of art in the world at the Louvre, the Musée D’Orsay, and the Centre Pompidou, are balanced with fascinating explorations of Napoleon’s tomb, the Palace at Versailles, and of course, the wonder of the Eiffel Tower. Evening strolls along the Seine reveal Notre Dame lit up at night while the Rue Mouffetard transports us to the Paris of Hollywood films. But no visit to France would be complete for a Canadian without a pilgrimage to Vimy Ridge and battlefields of World War One: few leave the Canadian National Monument at Vimy without a greater sense of pride and love for this country. Whether it is for the art, the history, or the food, France in the spring is a perfect way to spend your Spring Break.

Travel Overview
March  2018

Departure From Toronto (Day 1)

Our North American departure hub is Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. Five hours prior to our departure, a short meeting will be held at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel, Terminal 3, to distribute course packs and maps and to clarify travel procedures. All students are responsible for making their own travel arrangements to the Sheraton Gateway Hotel. Students making alternate arrangements must contact MEI before November 30.

Paris (Day 3–11)

Muskoka is a scenic area sprinkled with picturesque villages and towns, farming communities, and lakeside vacation hotels and resorts near to golf courses, country clubs, and marinas. Right in the heart of “Cottage Country”, Clublink courses like Rocky Crest and The Lake Joseph Club have become legendary not only for their immense beauty, but top-rated facilities and playing amenities. Academically we will be focusing on leadership in sports, discussing legendary coaches and figures and their approaches to sports and life.

Versailles (Day 11–15)

From Muskoka we will travel to another picturesque location, with a stop in Mont-Tremblant, where students will have the opportunity to play Le Val de Lac and Le Maitre de Mont, two beautiful courses with world-class facilities. Academically, we will focus on creating our own athletic philosophies and ethos, using the knowledge and experience gained throughout our trip to develop a unique approach to golf.

Vimy (Day 15–21)

Long considered a cultural hub of North America, Montreal offers students the opportunity to see another side of Canada—one that immerses itself in music, the arts, and great literature while still offering breathtaking scenery and unique cuisine. Students will balance their time on the course with tours through historical neighbourhoods like the Mile-End, the Plateau, and the Old Port. We will finish off the program with our final tournament at Le Fontainebleau, host of the 2004 Telus Skins Open and 2015 Champions Tour Montreal Open.
