Day 22: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to Siem Reap, Cambodia
We were up early and made it to the airport with plenty of time. It was so much time that Jess managed to shoot a music video with very student in the class.
The flight was short and the students started to love Siem Reap right away. The airport is small and new and you walk down stairs from your plane, onto the runway, and into the single terminal.
We caught our bus to our lovely hotel on the west side of town. We relaxed and then walked downtown to eat. After dinner, the lights of the small tourist town had come on and our class was exited by the energy and friendliness for tourists. There are millions of visitors here, drawn by the chance to visit the ruins of Angkor to the north. Siem Reap is small but appeals to international visitors. There are restaurants that serve burgers, pizza, sushi, and more. For dinner we divided into three groups to have local Khmer cuisine like amok, a top-reviewed vegetarian restaurant, and some Mexican cuisine at a popular place.
We walked back home together, excited to continue our exploration tomorrow.
